Pluggable editor for your web site

Today I’m going to tell you about a cool open source project called ORION.
orion

         Overview

  • Orion’s objective is to create a browser-based open tool integration platform which is entirely focused on developing for the web, in the web. Tools are written in JavaScript and run in the browser. Unlike other attempts at creating browser-based development tools, this is not an IDE running in a single tab. Links work and can be shared. You can open a file in a new tab. Great care has been taken to provide a web experience for development. You can try orion here

How to embed Orion into your web page

    1. You can download the orion build from ORION BUILD PAGE( Don’t forget to download the latest build)
    2. Extract built-codeEdit.zip. (This is the widget that we are going to embed)
    3. Now what you have to do is call some JS functions. 🙂
    • If you want to get this done quickly just place the following html file inside the extracted folder and open it. 😛
  • Here I have only talked about the Orion Widget. If you are more curious please check the source code of the complete project 😀
